Adobe Illustrator
What is Adobe Illustrator?
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor developed by Adobe.
While both programs have seemingly similar functions, one is a pixel-based drawing program (Photoshop), the other a vector-based program (Illustrator). For example, while it's possible to create a logo in both programs, vector-based design is generally preferred for such work.
For example, by adhering entirely to vectors in Illustrator, no matter how large the work is done, there will be no distortion in the image.
