OTTOMAN PERIOD FASHION;

The Ottoman Empire, influenced by its vast geography and diverse cultures, possessed a rich and diverse character. During this period, clothing styles were determined by details reflecting social status and occupation. Different garments and accessories were worn in the palace, the harem, and among the public.

While the sultans and princes' attire in the palace was quite lavish and opulent, the women in the harem were also meticulously chosen. Colorful silks, gold embroidery, and precious stones were preferred. For the common people, simpler, more comfortable attire was preferred to simplify daily life.

The headscarf also held a significant place in Ottoman fashion. Women wore headscarves in different styles depending on their social status. Clothing and accessories influenced by different regions of the Ottoman Empire also influenced fashion.

Today, traditional clothing and patterns that still bear traces of Ottoman-era fashion continue to survive as an important part of Turkish culture.
